Can my startup open a bank account without an EIN?

Most banks will require your startup to already have an EIN before you can apply for a bank account. However, if you applied for an EIN through Clerky, you can apply for a bank account with Mercury while you’re waiting for the IRS to issue the EIN.

  2. Once your EIN application is pending, view the banking options for your team and apply for Mercury.
